Eryngium planum Eryngium planum flowers from July until October, it creates thimble-sized steel-blue blooms that stand proudly on upright branching stems. It is easy to care for and requires direct sunlight to thrive. Blue eryngo has long lasting blooms that are surrounded by spiny bracts, they create lots of garden interest and add great architectural height and structure to dull flower beds. Eryngium planum 3 bare roots make fabulous gap fillers and add a splash of colour to lifeless borders. It sits well with other herbaceous perennials and is a perfect addition to cottage, wildlife, cut flower and coastal gardens.
Growing Information
Grow sea holly plants on light, well drained soil in full sun. Eryngium plants particularly dislike cold, wet soil in winter which may cause the crown to rot. If planting on heavy soils, dig in plenty of coarse grit to improve drainage prior to planting.
