Freesia 'Royal Crown Mix' - Seeds
A beautiful freesia that will bloom in its first year, unlike other varieties which take years to flower. Freesia ‘Royal Crown Mix’ boasts a colourful mix of large, single and semi-double, scented blooms in a variety of eye-catching shades. Can be grown outdoors on a sunny patio in milder parts of the UK or overwintered in a greenhouse or conservatory for spring flowering. The cluster-like flower stems create a magnificent vase display that will last for up to 3 weeks, adding a splash of colour and wonderful fragrance to the home. Height: 45cm (18in). Spread: 20cm (8in).
Sowing Information
Sow spring to mid summer in a peat based compost, after soaking them for 24 hours in water before sowing. Sow 5-6 seeds per 5in pot. Alternatively chit the seed by mixing with moist peat or sand, keep moist and at a temperature of 18C (65F) for approximately 14 days and then sow as normal.
Move the pots outdoors when the seedlings are established and grow on in a sheltered spot. Bring under glass and give frost protection from autumn onwards, keeping the temperature at around 10C (50F).
