Just scatter the seed onto a well-prepared tilth and it will spring into action by April, producing blooms through to July in a kaleidoscope of glorious colour. The first colours to appear are the energising oranges of the Siberian wallflower and Californian poppy. Silene then adds a touch of pink and forget-me-nots later a daub of blue, finishing with the warmer tones of coreopsis, dianthus, delphiniums, echinacea and rudbeckia. Height and spread vary from around 30-100cm (12-39in).
